It’s time for Chinese New Year celebrations in San Francisco. Although the New Year of the Ox began on January 26th, the big parade is this Saturday, Feb. 7th.
Meantime, I’ve really been enjoying all the flowers blossoming across the city. We had an unusually warm and dry January, so this year Spring Festival (which is what Chinese New Year is called in China, Chun Jie–春節）is really very spring-like!
More flowers in Japantown in San Francisco:
Japantown’s Peace Plaza.
Some flowers in Pacific Heights.
And finally, in Peace Plaza in Japantown:
Happy New Year of the Ox, everyone! Gong xi fa cai! Gung hay fat choy!
