As it’s rodeo time in Laramie again (July!), and I’m visiting family, I thought I’d post an old home movie I made about the very first rodeo I ever saw right here in Laramie, Wyoming.
It’s very much a home movie–with spotty sound and jumpy shots, but I think it still conveys a little bit of what it’s like to come for the town’s two week celebration with the rodeo, street fair, and general feel of life in the Western part of the U.S.
Although things in town have changed somewhat since 1993 (when I shot the film on a Super 8 camera!), Laramie still looks a lot like this today.
